The Situation

Hewlett Packard has a strong presence in many consumer and commercial sectors and their print offerings are some of the strongest out there. In order to continue bringing print value to consumers, they needed to understand how they could fit into some of the new online mediums where print isn’t of obvious value.

How we thought about it

For this type of project, we needed to understand how we would position a product as if it were our own while at the same time taking as much of HP as a company into account as possible. This project was highly focused around the current players offering print solutions online, what they were doing, and how strong the market uptake was. Another component to this project was determining what real consumer print needs looked like and how a company like HP could deliver upon these in a way that would result in a strong value proposition.

Results

A comprehensive analysis and set of recommendations that HP could take action with and use as third party validation on some internal initiatives.
